Marriage to Cheryl

Marriage to Cheryl begins the morning after Engagement to Cheryl left off.  Cheryl is not happy with reports concerning John’s bachelor’s party—actually orchestrated by Cathy, Cheryl’s Maid-of-Honor—and announces that obedience and discipline are to be the words John will live by in their new life together.  This is explicitly clear in the additional vows and embarrassingly painful ceremony John undergoes with the women of the wedding party as witnesses.  After the wedding and reception, the couple flies to the Bahamas for a honeymoon, arranged and paid for by Cheryl’s parents.  (John had no idea the Walkers were so wealthy; they own the resort!)  Cheryl uses their honeymoon as an opportunity to set the tone for their married life and to stress the importance to John of obedience and discipline by promising him a good paddling each night at bedtime.  All is not pain and humiliation for poor John, as the island sun, bonefishing on the flats and especially the delights of the marriage bed are thoroughly enjoyed.
